Day 10

Read: Colossians 3:17

Key Verse:

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him,” Colossians 3:17 (NKJV)

Key Reflection:
vv.16-17 “When believers are forgiving, and loving toward one another, when peace reigns among God’s people, then the church is fertile soil for the blessings produced by God’s word.  The beneficial influence produced by the indwelling word of God is not only to affect public and private worship but it is also to control all areas of a Christian’s life,” (The King James Study Bible, 1988, p. 1867).

Thought:
A conference was held at a Presbyterian church in Omaha, NE. People were given helium-filled balloons and told to release them at some point in the service when they felt like expressing the joy in their hearts. Since they were Presbyterians, they weren’t free to say “Hallelujah, Praise the Lord.” All through the service balloons ascended, but when it was over 1/3 of the balloons were still not released. Let your balloon go! The same way we need to let our witness of how the Lord wants to save those who are lost, (II Peter 3:9) be expressed (let go) from our lips (Bruce Larson, Luke, p. 43).  Will you Worship Christ or be reserved in your acknowledgment of Him in your life?

Prayer:
Pray to let go and let God work in your life and then surrender to Him totally in worship.  Watch what happens next!!!

Questions:
Are you an expressive worshipper or a reserved worshipper; how would you describe your worship?

Is there a situation in your life helping you to surrender all worship and praise to God?
