Vision
The vision of the Leadership Development and Training Ministry (LDTM)
is to become a group of people dedicated to continually investing in increasing
the capacity of church leaders to serve.
Mission
The mission of the LDTM is to research training needs for church
leaders. To this end, training needs are expected to come from two major
sources. First, in-house training will consist of independent study courses, in
service training, peer training, and non-traditional church school. Second,
outside training sources will include locally and nationally recognized
speakers, conferences, courses through other churches, and traditional education
forums. Furthermore, training assessments will promote long-term planning and
budgeting.
Justification
Last year, strategic planning sub-team 2 (SPT#2) completed SWOT
analysis that focused on the issue of church growth. One of the findings stated,
"All ministries indicated a need for more leadership training as a way of
improving their effectiveness and professionalism". This was also expressed
in the Shiloh Membership Survey conducted February/March 2001. The LTDM is a
response to this very important call and is well aligned with the shared vision
and the vision God has given our pastor.
