90-Day Tithing Challenge

"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it." Malachi 3:10

We want to encourage you to start tithing and see God begin blessing your life as you commit to healthy financial stewardship. If you begin to tithe regularly over the next 90 days, we’re confident you will see God bless your life as you commit to healthy financial stewardship. It takes 90 days to establish a new habit and make it part of your lifestyle. This challenge will be a great way for you to get started with the habit of tithing.

WHY?

The only thing in the Bible that God says to test Him on is tithing. God promises to take care of your financial needs when you trust Him by giving Him your tithe. (Malachi 3:10)

HOW?

Tithing is 10% of your income, not just regular or spontaneous giving to the church. We don’t tithe or give out of obligation, but out of gratitude. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, “Don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”

WHO?

Tithing is God’s plan for every follower of Christ. However, The 90-Day Tithing Campaign is for individuals that have not been tithing in at least the last six months. Tithing is 10% of your income, not just regular or spontaneous giving in the church offering.

WHEN?

The 90-Day Tithe Challenge will run from April 8 - June 8. Simply sign up at the Usher's station or click below.

THEN WHAT?

See what God does! Begin the habit of tithing, and see if God doesn’t hold true to His promise of blessings. Keep a journal of what God does. Let us know if you have something special to share. We’d love to hear from you.

WHAT IS TITHING?

The word “tithe” comes from the Hebrew word Ma’aser and it simply means a tenth. The Lord calls us to return back to Him 10% of everything He blesses us with. In Malachi 3:10, God says,”Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in my house.” The ‘storehouse’ is the Old Testament picture of the New Testament church. So as New Testament Christ- followers, we honor the Lord with the tithe or the 10%.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TITHE AND AN OFFERING?

The tithe is 10% of your income. The Bible says that everything we have belongs to God and that we acknowledge God’s ownership and provision by returning to Him the first 10% of what we are given. Offerings are any generous gifts that we give over and above our tithe. And while our tithe is designated for the local church, an offering is for you to be generous wherever you see a need. Many followers of Christ confuse giving regularly with tithing, and while giving regularly is awesome, and is a big step in itself, tithing is taking a full 10% of your paycheck, and giving it to the local church that you are a part of so that the mission of Jesus Christ in your community and world can move forward.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TITHING?

Tithing carries multiple blessings that will benefit your life. Tithing allows for Jesus’ mission through the church to move forward without reservation. Secondly, tithing positions you to receive blessings from God. God promises to “open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing on you that is so big you can’t contain it!” Tithing puts us in the right place at the right time for God to do something big.
