A Community of Believers Providing Spiritual Light Serving Seniors
The Shiloh Baptist Church Senior Ministry's goal is to address the social, spiritual, and educational needs of this special and highly valued ministry. We thank God for blessing the Senior Ministry in a mighty way and allowing us to prosper.
We believe the seniors of Shiloh Baptist Church have an impact on the members and friends of this great community and we will continue to work and plant seeds to make a lasting impact amongst the believers.
Community Involvement The Senior Ministry is a community of believers providing spiritual light, while drawing and serving to seniors. It is our belief that being servants in the church as well as the community is imperative as servants of Christ. The Senior Ministry strives to both minister and give back a portion of what God has blessed us with.
The Senior Ministry partners with many ministries of the church as well as those in the community.
The Senior Ministry has been recognized in the community by organizations including:
- Alexandria Commission on Aging (Excellence in Aging Award)
- Alexandria Re Development and Housing Authority
- David’s Dancers of Shiloh Baptist Church
We love God, we love our church, we love people, and we love to serve! We are determined to honor God as servants within Shiloh as well as the community and provide a circle of friends and fellowship that will worship Him. It is our goal to provide quality, caring service in all areas of senior physical and spiritual development, and to serve as the spiritual heart and foundation for caring service to senior and inter-generational programming in Christ.
We value the uniqueness of each of our members and their individual talents within this ministry. Though this is a Senior Ministry, we have been blessed with the many talents of the younger generation and we are thankful that God has used them with the desire to serve. All seniors are welcome to find their place in our ministry. Our prayer is to share the love of Jesus Christ with all seniors in our community and build activities that meet both spiritual needs and daily needs.
